Moon on Earth

December 6, 2008 - Leave a Response

Have you ever been to a place that resembles the moon close enough? Today, I went out with my friends to the Bessy beach in Chennai. One of my friends shot this picture that turned out to be a cracker of a snap. Picture this – With the vast emptiness of the sea refusing to retreat, this picture shot at the sea shore very closely resembles the moon, with light on one side and darkness on the other. The sea at night describes the darkness of silence. The bright  sandy surface represents the light of life.  The guy (thats me) in the picture depicts the human evolution.  Haven’t they heard – “Imagination is like fantasy in a fool’s paradise”. I jus’ said that!

Deep sleep syndrome

December 5, 2008 - 2 Responses

At about two pm, as I was gazing at my pc in my office, I fell asleep. This happens almost everyday. There is a sudden shortage of oxygen supply to my brain cells at this time. Its as though I haven’t slept for months. Two hours seem like two days, as I battle to stay awake against this syndrome called sleep. Researchers say the energy level dips down incredibly at noon and rises then on. Some workplaces have dorms that help people combat this deep sleep syndrome. Some prefer to take a nap, some drink coffee and there are some who just doze off at their desks.

If you are not working, you are networking

December 3, 2008 - Leave a Response

Man, by virtue of his existence, has many desires. But, there is one that tops it all. Its the burning desire to get recognized. Be it the house or the workplace, we badly want recognition. There are two kinds of people. They are men who are working and the other being the men who are networking. So, its upto us to decide if we want to get consumed by the daily drudgery of work or if we want to meet new and interesting people. We can do both. But, can our dexterity do the balancing act? Given a choice, I would network and not otherwise.

Pick the roses, not the thorns

December 3, 2008 - Leave a Response

In our daily life, we come across various kinds of people. There are some who we would want to stay connected forever. There are some whom we would want to forget the moment we meet them. Why is it so? Why is there such a disparity amongst humans? The world can be akin to a crowded house filled not only with people, but also with thoughts. The attitude of a person can be attributed to the right kind of thoughts he thinks. Positivity seems to be the need of the hour. To garner those thoughts, one has to focus from within. Growth cannot happen unless one aspires and to build those aspirations, we as people need to generate positive thoughts. The intrinsic nature of human beings is to stay positive. External influences change the way we think and behave. From the garden of life filled with people, we need to pick the roses, not the thorns.

India has felt the pinch, but not the pain!

November 30, 2008 - Leave a Response

Indian economy has felt the pinch of the global credit crunch. But, the pain has abated. We’ve got a new kinda pinch. The pain of this pinch has been strong enough to permeate through the nerves of the nation. Its the recent attacks on the Mumbai city. Ruthless terrorists with a sinister plan to blow up buildings and kill people are the talk of the town. But, India was not built on a day. Neither was it made of clay. India’s sovereignty and strong social fabric has planted seeds in the minds of the barbaric terrorists, who go to any extent to shake the soul of the nation – be it the September eleventh, or the recent Mumbai attacks. In Barrack Obama’s words, “Change is all we need”. Change of leaders, change of security policies, change of capital investment, change in the financial structure and more importantly change in methods to combat global terrorism. In this context, I would like to narrate a small story: There is a glass of milk. You add a tinge of poison to it. The milk is poisoned. Now, how do you remove the poison from the milk? Is there a solution? Yes. The answer is a definite yes! To reduce the effects of the poison, we need to add more and more milk. Similarly, in a world filled with poisonous terrorists, good people and great leaders must stay connected. As more and more good people begin to connect with each other, change will happen. This change will change the face of the world – face of the economy – face of terrorism. And then there shall be peace – an everlasting one!

Let there be peace in the world

Garuda Dandakam

November 30, 2008 - Leave a Response

Garuda Dandakam is a stotra that was chanted by Vedanta Maha Desikar to invoke Lord Garuda’s blessings. In ekalavya style, I listened to Kadambi Srinathanji’s chanting of this sloka regularly and mastered it. I have embedded two audios, one by priest Kadambi Srinathanji and other one in my own voice..

I recently visted a temple that had the deity inside its sacred sanctorium. The deity is called Sri Mantra Raja Naga Pasha Amrutakalasha Garuda Bhagawan.

In Amruthapuri Ramanuja Yogavanam, we have a captivating idol of Sri Garuda with a Nectar pot on the upper right hand, the left upper hand holding the Serpent King with the lower hands in the familiar Anjali mode offering the palm leaves containing the mantras and Vedas restored from the vanquished demons.

Please grow trees

Please grow trees

The never never land. Why this name ? Coz people who go there are never born again. Is this land special ? Of course, yes. Why ? This abode is completely spiritual and ethereal. A place where bliss manifests to its maximum and where there is plenty of joy and happiness. Ancient texts state the existence of such an abode and have also quoted references in their texts. Why must we believe this ? We must believe this in order to cross the hurdles and challenges faced by us in life. Lets take a look at how the abode of eternity (modern science calls it infinity) looks like.

  •  The eternal temple is infinite in size. Hence, its length and breadth cannot be measured
  • The temple is surrounded by thousands of gardens full of flowers and trees capable of giving whatever one wishes
  • The temple has an exquisitely beautiful hall, which has thousands of pillars
  • The temple floor is decorated with innumerable gems
  • Birds like parrots, peacocks add beauty to the hundreds and thousands of gardens
  • Divine swans swim in the steams of water
  • The smell of camphor and sandal engulf the place

The soul stirring place is devoid of sadness, misery and people are always happy, no matter what !! See, why the name never never land…Happiness is a way of life. Firstly, the person has to place tremendous amount of faith in the existence of such an abode. Every individual’s life in this planet is for a fixed amount of time. The final moment is just a transition. If we understand this truth, we can eliminate the fear of the final moment. The soul simply reaches eternity if it believes so. As the soul thinketh, so it is.. The final moment cannot be decided by free will. Every individuals life on this planet is a predetermined cycle. We are mere puppets being completely controlled by the will of GOD. If we center GOD in our lives day in and day out, rest will simply fall in place. Trees grow faster only if we water the roots, not the leaves.

Space science – a childhood dream

Space science - a childhood dream

Right from my childhood, I have always been inspired by space science. It’s a fact that humanity at large is been guided by an intelligence. Deny it or accept it. But the fact remains to be the same. Here is a snapshot of what the big picture could possibly look like…

  • We have been told from school to remember the order: my very educated mother jus’ showed us nine planets. In the order of importance, they are: mercury, Venus, earth, mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto…
  • The nine planets is a perfect arrangement. It’s our galaxy called the Milky Way. The galactic arrangement plays a crucial role in our existence. It influences our moods, thoughts, actions, behavior, feelings…you name it…you have it…anything under the sun…
  • Andromeda galaxy heads the list of non zodiac constellations. The eagle constellation lies jus’ below it
  • Not much is talked about the non zodiac constellations.
  • If we escape the influence of the zodiac, we will have to fall in the zone of the non zodiac. The non zodiac constellations can be overwhelmingly powerful than all of the zodiac signs. Powerful it is, but if we go beyond, we will find that they are a storehouse of knowledge and intelligence
  • Vedic science state that the eagle rider rules eternity and beyond.
  • Vedic science state his abode to be a never never land.
  • Efforts have been made in the past to get there. Fools and the ignorant terminate their life before actual termination thinking they can go there. This is disastrous as it will take them to the darkest parts of hell and beyond. Heaven glorious.
  • The encomium given by the wizard on the bed of arrows is the key
  • This is the key to everything that we want from what is called as LIFE…
